Chapters360.com

Chapters360 is the result of a small pain-point, that I had for a few years now. I think calling it a pain will be exaggeration. lets call it a small annoyance. 

I follow a weekly podcast, it posts somewhere from a 2 to 4 hours of news and just random talks each week, on Saturday. and for a few hours, it does not have chapters. or Timestamps.
Timestamps are the marking in any YouTube video which tell you about what topic is being talked about at any given time. 
And it really annoys me cause I generally lose track of time and topic and end up repeating a lot. 
In a few hours a member from these community posts these timestamps. which are very helpful. We call him “the timestamp man” 😄. 
Anyways, 
I always used to think, “what if a computer can do this? what if a computer can watch the entire video and create these chapters on topic automatically?” And one day I decided to make it myself. 
I am not saying that this is the only system in the world which does this.  No. definitely not. There are a lot of similar systems already. But by far this system worked the best for me. And I have ended up using this app myself more than I ever thought I would. And I decided to share this technology with other people as well. 
And that’s how chapters360.com was born. 

I have made it by keeping teachers and students in mind. Because academics is the field where this kind of structure is needed the most. Weather if a student is watching a 10 hour long compilation of lectures or a teacher who wants to quickly get notes on a lecture they are working on. 
I personally use chapters360 more for normal videos as well. especially if I am watching a video and the person keeps talking about off-topic stuffs and I say, come on.  “get to the topic”. well, not anymore. I can just generate timestamp for important topics of the video and skip to that time directly. 
In short, the possibilities are endless. 

Chapters360 also creates a summary for the video and tries to explain everything happening in the video as short as possible while trying not to skip any details. It is especially helpful if a student is trying to do revision of a lecture they have already watched. 

I don’t know why I am writing this as a marketing content. This is not a marketing blog. This is the only place where I feel like I can truly be honest. And to be honest, Its a cool project. something close to my heart. and I don’t know what the future holds for it. I am nervous if other people will like it as much as I do? Maybe, maybe not. But I will try my best.  I have already heard from someone, that “chatgpt can also do that”. No, It can not. trust me, I have tried 🙃. 

I have not yet gotten a chance to make it completely language agnostic. It does understand pretty much all major languages. But it only writes in English as of now. and I apologize for that. 
I am working on fixing that so that everyone can use it. 

Anyways. this is a small initiative. I hope all goes well.

The emotional dilemma

 Sometimes I ask this question to myself, and I have been asking this question a lot more lately.  “should we allow our emotions to fluctuate or should we train ourselves to always remain in a stable state emotionally?” To be honest, its really a question of preference, I see advantages and disadvantages in both approaches.  As a man I feel like its quite essential for me to have a good control over my emotions and not let it come in my way of work. And I have been quite good at it. There are instances when I have been in a terrible shape emotionally but I did not let it affect my work even a bit. But this is what is shown on the outside. All language is but a poor translation

 Recently I came across this Quote by Franz Kafka.  “All Language is but a poor translation”.  Or as I like to say it, “A language is nothing but a poor translation of feelings”. And the more I think about it, It makes more sense.  On first thought, this idea seems conflicting. We made the languages, and every culture in the world should have perfected this skill to be able to express themselves completely, right? Well, Not really.  I am fortunate enough to know more than one language and I can see this gap between languages where no one is really perfect to be able to express ourselves completely.  Even with my native language, Urdu.
